Getting started
Goldlet has four tabs: Market, Calculator, My Gold, and Settings. The Market tab shows the live spot price and a karat breakdown. The Calculator turns weight, karat and country into a local-currency quote. My Gold keeps a private record of the pieces you own. Settings is where you pick your country, language, and gold price source.
How does the spot price update?
Automatically. The live USD spot price loads when you open the app and refreshes on your country's daily update schedule. You can also pull down on the Market tab or tap the circular refresh button any time — there is no daily cap for anyone.
The Source line on the spot-price card shows which feed the price came from.
Where does the price come from? Can I change the source?
Yes — open Settings → Preferences → Gold Price Source. Three free live feeds are available:
- Swissquote (default) — a regulated Swiss bank's own bid/ask trading quotes; Goldlet uses the midpoint.
- Gold-API.com — an aggregated spot price updated about every minute.
- Yahoo Finance — the COMEX gold futures price (GC=F), which typically sits a few dollars from spot.
One source serves every country: Goldlet fetches USD per troy ounce and converts it to each local currency. Goldlet then applies the workmanship and VAT conventions typical of your market — reference associations (LBMA, COMEX, DMCC, the Saudi Gold & Jewellery Association and more) are listed on the Daily Price Updates card.
What is the My Gold tab?
A private tracker for the gold you own. Add each piece with its photo, weight, karat, purchase price, shop and date — and Goldlet shows its value at today's price, with a green/red gain-loss line per piece.
Deleted pieces can be restored from History for 90 days. Free users can keep up to 15 pieces; Goldlet Pro removes the limit. If your Pro subscription ends while you hold more than 15, you get 3 days to resubscribe before the pieces beyond the first 15 are locked — they are never deleted, and unlock again the moment Pro is back.
What does Goldlet Pro include?

What is Aioratec Sync?
A Pro feature that keeps your gold list and receipt history identical on every device signed into the same iCloud account. Turn it on in Settings → Aioratec Sync, or tap Sync Now to force a round-trip. Photos stay on the device they were added on; everything else syncs. There is no Goldlet account — the data moves through your own iCloud, not our servers.
How many countries are supported?
123 countries at last count — every Arab market, all of the EU, the US, UK, Switzerland, India, Pakistan, Türkiye, Japan, Korea, Brazil, South Africa, Australia and dozens more. Each country has its own currency, VAT rate, workmanship convention and update schedule baked in. Pick yours from Settings → Preferences → Country.
Which languages does Goldlet speak?
Thirteen: English, Arabic, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Russian, Turkish, Hindi, Urdu, Persian, Chinese (Simplified), and Indonesian. Arabic, Urdu and Persian get a full right-to-left layout. Switch any time from Settings → Preferences → Language — the language is independent of your selected country.
How does Save Receipt and the history work?
After tapping Calculate, Pro users see Save and Share Receipt buttons under the receipt card. Save stores it in a history you can open from Settings → Pro Active → Receipt History or directly from the Calculator's Receipt History link.
Tap any saved receipt to open the full detail card. You can attach the shop's name there, edit it later, share the whole receipt as an image, or delete the entry. The list supports swipe-to-delete and drag-to-reorder.
Can I use my shop's own price per gram?
Yes. In the Calculator, the Price per gram field under the karat picker is pre-filled with the live market price for the selected karat. Leave it as is, or type the rate your shop quotes — the Gold Value, VAT and total recalculate from your figure. Workmanship can be overridden the same way.
What's the difference between per-gram and percentage workmanship?
Most Gulf markets charge a fixed fee per gram for the craftsmanship of the piece, regardless of the gold's value. Levant and Maghreb markets more often charge a percentage of the gold value. A few markets use both. The calculator labels which method is in use for your selected country.
Why is the total different from what my jeweller quoted?
Three reasons typically explain the gap:
- The spot price moved since the app last refreshed it.
- The jeweller charges a different workmanship rate (designer pieces are higher).
- VAT treatment can vary between investment-grade gold (often exempt) and jewellery.
Use Goldlet to sanity-check a quote, not to replace one.
Do I need an internet connection?
Only for refreshing the live spot price and for Aioratec Sync. The calculator and My Gold work fully offline using the last known spot price stored on your device.
Does Goldlet store my data?
Your preferences, saved receipts, and gold list (including photos) live on your device. If you turn on Aioratec Sync, your gold and receipts are also stored in your personal iCloud so your other devices can read them — never on our servers. See the Privacy Policy for details.
